The former Minister and YSR Congress Party leader Konda Surekha slammed the Congress Party for removing the portraits of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy from the Gandhi Bhavan. She said she happy to note that KVP Ramachandra Rao, a close friend of former Chief Minister, raised the issue when he found no photo of YSR at the function of the Youth Congress.
She was pained by the defence of some congress leaders that photo of none of the former Chief Ministers was there and reminded them that no Congress Chief Minister ever died while in office. YSR brought the Congress to power twice and died in harness. “He cannot be compared with other Chief Ministers,” she asserted.
She was speaking to the media after laying a Rakhi on the Samadhi of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy in Idupulapaya on Thursday on the occasion of Rakhi Punnami.
Surekha said the Government never took any action against congress leaders when cases were pending against them but her husband, Konda Murali was suspended from the party as there were two cases against him. It exposed the double standards of the Congress, she said.
If it was correct to give legal aid to the ministers who were served notices in Jagan disproportionate asserts case, why then the government did not file a counter affidavit in court in the case filed by former minister Shankar Rao, she questioned. She expressed confidence that Jagan would come out of jail as he was innocent.
She said the YSRCP would surely win in the local body elections whenever they were held.
