Jagan, the son of the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the former Andhra Pradesh chief minister, is currently in jail after being charged with various acts of corruption by the CBI. YS Vijaya Lakshmi, Jagan’s mother, had met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on July 4, as head of a delegation of YSR Congress leaders, to allege a witch-hunt by the CBI.
A senior source in the Congress says a meeting also took place between Vijaya Lakshmi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi and summoned before her and cried before her for Jagan’s future . And Sonia Gandhi gave her a word which made Vijayamma to give statements later that Jagan would soon come out of the jail. Sources say, There is also a condition that Jagan cannot be CM in 2014, if YSRC will the elections rather Vijayamma will be the CM and Jagan will contest MP elections , At the same time they would support Congress party to make Rahul Gandhi as PM in 2014. Jagan might get a cabinet berth if he behaves well in future. Vijayamma desperately agreed for all these conditions and waiting for Jagan’s release.
